It's baaaaa-aack! Somerset Collection's CityLoft pop-up shopping concept has returned to Woodward Avenue for its second summer, anchoring the rebirth of Downtown Detroit Days. I reported on CityLoft's return for Hour Detroit before I left for Stockholm (you can read my article here!), so I couldn't resist scoping it out on opening day.
Located just north of Campus Martius on Woodward Avenue in the heart of downtown Detroit, CityLoft was buzzing when I stopped by this afternoon. Shoppers browsed merchandise from Saks Fifth Avenue, Intermix, Madewell, Restoration Hardware, Coach, and more while a DJ spun the latest club jams. All in all, CityLoft has created a fun, festive atmosphere for shopping a carefully curated selection of goods.
My CityLoft loot: Free People cardigan, Chanel nail polish, and Marc by Marc Jacobs iPad case. |
I didn't necessarily plan on buying anything, but then I laid hands on the softest nautical-inspired cardigan ever at Free People, and I couldn't pass up a gorgeous orangey-coral Chanel nail polish. I've been on the hunt for a new iPad sleeve, and what do you know? Saks had the perfect one from Marc by Marc Jacobs on hand.
Isn't this color so pretty? |
CityLoft runs June 28-30, July 26-28, and August 16-18 and is located at 1261 Woodward Avenue, Detroit. For more information, www.downtowndetroitdays.com.
